Food at Herefordshire Care Homes

Fresh and Delicious

Food and Drink is an important part of our lives and such an enjoyable experience in all of our homes. Our team of chefs ensure every meal is delicious, well balanced and provide excellent nutrition.

We receive daily deliveries of fresh bread and pastries, fresh meat from our butchers own farm and locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.

All meals are served at leisure and can be taken in your room or in the dining room. Our main meal is usually lunch. Afternoon tea, served mid afternoon is an opportunity to try the day’s homemade cakes and biscuits, while supper is offered later in the evening. One thing is for sure, you will be spoilt for choice! Food is available 24 hours a day with a special night time room service menu.

Activities & Events

Activities are such an important part of everyone’s day so in our care homes we offer a variety of activities that reflects the interests and lifelong hobbies of the people who live with us.

We have a team of specialist activity staff and volunteers who support each of our homes and also encourage all staff to join in with the activities.

A wide range of activities are on offer 7 days a week to support each resident to lead a fulfilling life, making the most of opportunities for fun and stimulation both within and outside the home.

NAPA (National Activity Providers) Awards

These National Awards are held each year and we are pleased to have won various categories for the last three years. This year Dulas Court has been awarded the National "Best Project" Award. This was awarded to the best national project using art to enhance quality of life in a care setting. Our project involved establishing a choir and performing in a variety of settings, this included singing with the well known "military wives".
