Herefordshire Care Homes,  has six homes around the county, recently received a visit from Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Executive of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, to Highwell House in Bromyard.

Andrea was blown away by the stunning Herefordshire scenery, but could not spend all morning looking at the countryside as she was there not only to see the first class care available at Highwell House, and across all the homes in the Herefordshire Care Homes Group, but also to talk with all levels of the nursing staff at Highwell House.

Andrea speaking of her visit said it was ‘so insightful to meet some of the nurses, students and residents at Herefordshire Care Homes and to discuss the opportunities to nursing in social care’.

Trudi Barnett, manager and nurse at Highwell House, said that she was delighted to welcome Andrea to Highwell and thanked her for the opportunity of allowing the team to meet with her. Trudi added that she knows ‘Andrea will fly the flag for nursing in care homes.’

The visit also coincided with Andrea’s birthday, and that of one of the residents, so they were both presented with a birthday cake and blew out the candles together and everyone enjoyed the cake after!
